MEET YVONNE

Yvonne Campos, MS, PCA

Professional Counseling Associate

approach

My approach to therapy is relational, neuro-affirming, and grounded in cultural humility and awareness. I draw from Child-Centered Play Therapy(CCPT), Family Systems Theory,Ecological Systems Theory, Trauma Based Relational Intervention(TBRI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT), somatic practices, expressive arts, and attachment-based child development.

I strive to create a warm, engaging space where children and families feel safe, seen, and supported. With children, this often includes play, creative expression, expressive arts, and sensory-based approaches to support emotional expression and regulation. I partner with caregivers through psycho-education and offer support as families navigate school systems. I offer collaboration with the child's education support team, to provide consistency and connection across environments. My goal is to build authentic relationships that support meaningful, sustainable growth for the whole family.

Playground With Children

I try to bring a steady presence that helps kids and families feel safe enough to slow down and connect. I value working alongside caregivers and schools so children feel supported across different parts of their world. I stay curious and provide culturally-responsive care that honors each child'd identity and lived experience

My path into counseling is rooted in both lived experience and over a decade of work supporting children, teens, and families across education, youth development, and community mental health settings. As a first-generation college and graduate student, I understand how deeply systems, relationships, and access shape a child's sense of safety, identity, and possibility.

In my work as a school program coordinator, early childhood assistant teacher, social services assistant, and a school counseling intern, I supported children and families navigating complex systems in schools, residential programs, and community mental health settings. I often worked alongside foster youth, neurodivergent and twice-exceptional (2E) learners, and families impacted by trauma, poverty, and systemic inequities. I became especially drawn to the importance of collaboration between caregivers, schools, and providers in supporting a child's development.
