MEET NEAHE

Neahe Miller, THW, PSS

Peer Support Specialist

approach

My therapeutic approach emphasizes respect, empathy, and encouragement for families. With over 15 years of experience in human services, I integrate Trauma-Informed Care to create a safe and supportive environment, and elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address negative thought patterns and behaviors. Clients can expect a compassionate, dedicated, and resourceful professional focused on promoting healing and resilience. Additionally, I utilize elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify strengths and set achievable goals.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated over 15 years to serving Oregon's most vulnerable populations, focusing on fostering respect, empathy, and encouragement for families. In my role as a Social Service Assistant, I coordinated and supervised court-ordered visitations for youth in foster care, ensuring their safety and well-being during these critical interactions. I facilitated visits in diverse settings, from client homes to hospitals, while collaborating with parents, children, case managers, and community partners. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and promoting culturally responsive conversations, which are crucial when working with diverse backgrounds.

My work with marginalized youth involved monitoring in-school suspension programs and promoting social-emotional learning and leadership development. I am skilled in client relations, overall relationship-building, and time management, all of which are essential for supporting the well-being and practical needs of clients.

experience

"My goal is simply this... To use my own life experiences and the things I've learned, to offer support and/or help in any way possible. My desire is to play a positive role, no matter how big or small, in the lives of the people around me. What I hope for most, is that I make everyone that I work with feel heard and advocated for. Through my own experience, I have realized that everyone has their own story. I simply want to work and play a positive part in the stories and lives I'm lucky enough to encounter."
