Yasharet Lopez Valencia, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I seek to provide empathy and respect for all my clients, and most importantly I seek to be part of their support system. I seek to be someone who will listen and meet them where they are in their healing journey. I specialize in incorporating approaches such as Attachment Based Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Strengths Based Therapy. I incorporate the connection between mind, body, and soul in my therapy approach, and I utilize these techniques to help guide my work with clients while recognizing the needs of each individual client.
As a first-generation Latina, I understand the struggles that come with the responsibilities of caring for family members at a young age and difficulties in adjusting to a new culture, for these reasons, I am passionate in providing services to the Latinx community. I have experience working with a variety of individuals who have experienced complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression, relationship issues, and survivors of sexual abuse. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have incorporated this approach in my work with children and families. I have broad range of experience working as a social worker in hospital settings, case management, and work with refugee and immigrant families.
Yo hablo español.
I speak Spanish.
"It is not always easy to acknowledge or recognize when we need help. It takes courage and strength to accept help from others. I honor the hardships that each individual experiences in their journey towards healing and in their journey to seek therapy. Even when life seems to be going the complete opposite of what you imagined, I seek to provide compassion and hope to support you in this journey and navigating the various challenges of life."
