approach
I provide care using the theoretical approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, Person-Centered Theory, Family Systems Theory, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Therapy. These theories are utilized to meet clients where they are in a holistic approach. I practice using approaches while building therapeutic relationships, creating a confidential, safe space to reach treatment plan goals.
My career path began as a Domestic Violence Director serving diverse communities, offering victim/survivor and offender groups, counseling, teaching, and creating an online curriculum for students to run healing and processing groups. I have also worked as a Child and Family Therapist offering individual, family, and couples counseling to heal communities of color against systemic oppression, genocide, and loss of identity in diverse communities in, in-patient and out-patient Mental Health Services, Alcohol and Drug in-patient and out-patient services while providing Mental Health Crisis Team after hour care.
As an African and Navajo Native woman, I practice from life experience of racial trauma to continual educational practices to reduce and eliminate the effect people of color endure in all areas of their lives to discover internal gifts to share with family, friends, and community, and reach short and long-term goals. I have worked with family systems to reduce stigmas regarding mental health care to promote normalizing holistic care for communities that lack resources and to reduce or eliminate barriers that have been placed on them for failure.
experience

I seek to serve clients from a diverse and holistic perspective. I introduce the idea of exploring internal gifts to reach goals throughout developmental stages in life and share within life systems. I strive to create a safe space to process, heal, and cope with lived experiences. Let's begin your healing journey.
