Anjana Rajan, MSW, CSWA

Clinical Social Work Associate

My approach is mostly humanistic. I don’t believe there is a “one-size fits all” approach and I accept the differences from one person to another. Having said that, I do utilize some aspects from Motivational interviewing (MI), Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution focused therapy (BSFT). I believe that every client is different and thus the challenges and solutions they have are also different.  One of the main elements in therapy, according to me, is to build a connection between therapist-and-client where clients feel respected, safe, and motivated to be open to the change that they are seeking. I am interested to continuing working with people from diverse backgrounds and getting to know them at a deeper level, all while supporting their journey.

मैं बोलता हूं

I speak Hindi.

I have worked with clients living with severe and persistent mental illnesses (SPMI) for the past few years, thus I carry the experience and personal understanding of working with people who’ve been through high levels of trauma and who need higher levels of support. I also have experiences working in school systems providing therapy, resource navigation, and the psychoeducation. I have previously worked with family mental health services providing one-on-one care, workshops, and case management.

I have earned my Masters in Social work from George Fox University, Portland. I am currently a CSWA, working on getting my LCSW.
