approach
Everyone has a story to tell and making space for those stories helps us to uncover themes and patterns that either empower or disempower us. Therapy can be a safe space in which we can explore these ideas. My clinical approach integrates trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, and somatic practices, allowing me to meet clients where they are with cultural humility and deep attunement to the interplay of identity, systemic oppression, and lived experience. I also borrow from dialectical behavior therapy. I work from the following theoretical frameworks: attachment theory, strengths-based approach, and systems approach, as these frameworks provide a comprehensive lens for understanding how one's lived experience shapes their development, relationships, coping mechanisms, and interactions within broader social and environmental systems.
Throughout my career, I've consistently centered the healing and empowerment of communities impacted by systemic inequalities, with a particular focus on communities of color, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those navigating complex trauma and mental health challenges. I've provided both individual and group therapy to individuals with varying levels of mental health needs. I've designed and facilitated wellness support groups for women, individuals experiencing homelessness, addressing both mental health and basic needs through case management and advocacy. Previously, I provided direct support to guaranteed income participants, many of whom were navigating the effects of generational trauma and economic marginalization through community building, healing-centered engagement, and culturally specific programming. My internships largely involved me supporting community based health initiatives and providing clinical services in hospital settings.
Across these roles, I've had the privilege of walking alongside clients navigating grief, identity, self-exploration, self-esteem challenges, deficit-thinking, and acute mental diagnoses such as PTSD, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I bring not only clinical skills, but a deep commitment to honoring the resilience and wisdom that each client carries as part of their family systems. I'm especially passionate about creating therapeutic spaces that foster connection and growth.
experience

As a Black therapist I seek to create therapeutic spaces that are holistic and ensure clients feel seen. When clients disclose something and follow it with "I've never told anyone this before" in these moments I know that trust has been established. As a therapist I believe trust is paramount and I am always working to ensure that clients feel safe enough to lean into the therapeutic process.
